Video display problems

I have an ATI Radeon 9000 PCI card. The other day I dowloaded and installed new drivers for it to help online gameplay with my Battlefield 1942, which works fine. Problem is that when i try to load CM now it says "game requires 800 x 600 video display". When I checked the troubleshooting quide it said to solve the problem by downloading the newest drivers...... . I therefore decided to reinstall my original drivers that came with the card but the same message is appearing. In desperation I tried to go back to restore points but of course it fails, and I have tried reinstalling the game without any luck. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I am in a tournament shortly.

Try this : go to your CM folder and delete the file 'Combat Mission BB Prefs' (for CMBB) or 'Combat Mission Bynd Ovr Prefs' (CMBO). This resets the settings for the graphics. At the next start of the program you will be asked for new display settings, usually the display mode of Windows. Not sure if this will solve the problem
