Is it possible to order engineers or infantry to build a dummy artyposition? Six wooden guns with some webbing, foxhole or two for personel around each "gun", a tent for commander and possible a radio to create some useless chatter for enemy to listen to. That could be protected by real AAA if we just could spare some. Just a thought.

Good idea. We can also use assets from each others' units in order to deceive the enemy. For example, a platoon of Hungarian BMPs patrol an area, and bump into NATO forces. So they think my weaker unit is there, while in reality it is the Soviet tank regiment, waiting for them... :devious:

Would be interesting to know if we could include things like decoys into the game. Hmm maybe we can do something like using an engenier squad to "simulate" an artillery postion...

Hmm, the idea with sending "wrong" forces on recon missions sounds quite good. It might be a really good way to make NATO attack whith inadequate units.

Since most intel on the enemy will be obtained during the Tactical Battles there is no need for dedicated decoy units. Deception will be accomplished by the battle commander using his units in WinSPMBT. The enemy will only know what he is facing as it becomes visible on the map AND only if he reports it to his higher commader/teamates through the Battle AAR threads. This is an excellent way to use recon units to screen the main force from prying eyes and shows the need for an intelligence officer for the team to try and put together a template of enemy locations.

So there is no aerial recon outside of tactical battles?

What about end of the battle screens? It shows ALL enemy forces that were present on the map, therefore we can not hide our assets that were not visible during the battle!

It shows ALL enemy forces that were present on the map, therefore we can not hide our assets that were not visible during the battle! All battles will be set to a very high turn #, probably 30-60 so the end game screen shouldn't come up. Since WinSPMBT doesn't allow a player to surrender that shortcut is eliminated as well. Thats why it will be very important for the players to keep the individual battle threads updated with as much detail as possible, especially regarding enemy information.

Is it possible to use SIGINT and ELINT? We could locate (and then target) enemy radar and radio transmissions, as well as hide ours. If there is such a possibility, please tell so, so I will give directives to our troops (observe radio silence, do not turn on radars, deploy false outputs, etc.), as well as forward the necessary requests to our comrades at Corps and Army level!

DD, is it cheating if I rename my T-64s as T-80?

DD, is it cheating if I rename my T-64s as T-80?Yes, no renaming of units. Leaders and stuff is OK but the actual units.
