Ok, working on a project that involves the invasion of Taiwan by China. With that in mind and my desire to be as realistic as possible, is there anyone out there that can point me in the right direction to obtain a military grid reference system based map of Taiwan?
I understand this may not easily be done, and my level of expertise in ATF is rather limited as I am using this project to help educate myself on the whole map/scenario creation task.
My thanks in advance...

Try these....

Ok, so if I were to use of these maps, or others like it, I would first have to change it to a .bmp file and then basically follow the instructions in the ATF Power toolkit tutorial on getting it set up to be used as a game map?
Been trying to figure this out and so far getting a bit of a headache, but still plugging along and more or less getting the hang of it.

In order to actually make the map for ATF, you will have to have a digital elevation model of the terrain, at 3 arc-second resolution. Getting the image into the game is the easy part. Getting ahold of this elevation data can be difficult.
I may be able to get my hands on the data. If you can get your hands on a 1:50k or 1:100k military map, I could create an ATF-compatable map for you. You would be on your own for adding terrain such as trees and roads, but that is the easy part. Let me know if you get the maps and I will give you more detailed instructions on what data I need from you.
Unfortunately, these tactical pilotage maps don't give me enough resolution to do an ATF map for you.

Been having a heluva time finding a map I can use for free. I have put in one request but I don't know yet how that will turn out. If you find something, please let me know. At this point, I am dying to have something work out for me on this project.

... As opposed to jamming a square peg (DTED data) into a round hole (ATF scenario map). But then it HAS been a long time since I drew terrain on a map ;)
