View Full Version : Bugs are in the air.
I do not know if it is a bug or what, but one of my opponents units actually gained strength by being attacked.
Please take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think.

It looks like all the stragglers raillied to their side once again.
Probably just gained some proficiency due to a successful defense and it was just enough to change the integer rounding from 1 to 2.
(so much for my 'haunted tank' theory...)
When I was a kid, there was a comic book series out about a haunted tank. I think that it was haunted (watched over) by J.E.B. Stuart, who was supposed to be the great-great grandfather of one of the tankers. I remember it was a little Stuart tank, and it was blasting Tigers with its 37mm gun.
I don't think this is the case here, though... ;)

Since the numbers are relative, I bet that the most powerful unit of the scenario got weaker during the combat phase, and it was enough to change the numbers for that small unit.

I read this story. sort of Stephen King - like, but I think it might have been a Peter Straub short story.

The ghost of Stuart was always riding ahead and exposing German ambushes. The little tank would always be able to sneak up and deliver critical hits (snake eyes in my old Squad Leader days) on the tigers and panthers. A friendly ghost would certainly boost proficiency and recon levels.
Given the mysteries inherent in TOAW, I consider Mantis' theory as valid as the others listed here. Norm probably read comic books (maybe still does). :TRUCE:

Nope. I saw it change strength immediately after the combat resolution, and the most powerfull unit was resting the entire turn.

That might be it. I will ask my opponent to check whether the profiency has risen.

I'd prefer strip poker with that Venezuelan god of yours. ;)

As soon as her Columbian girlfriend finds the deck of cards, we'll get right down to a nice 4-way game. I told her that the deck was under the couch. Silly girl...she falls for that one every time!
