In October of 2002 my wargamming friends and scale modlers were invited to the Pony Ranch in Northern California. It is one of the largest private collections of privately owned WORKING (except the weapons) collections of armored and military vehicles in the world. I thought I would share some of the pictures with you all (y'all) if your from the Southern States in the USA. Enjoy!!!!! :surprise:

The picture attached is of a Panther that the owner had salvaged from a lake in Poland. According to the guide, the Panther had broken down on a frozen lake, and in the retreat the Germans set demo charges to damage it. When the lake defrosted it sank to the bottom where is sat until just recently. The guide stated that it will cost between $2 Mil and $4 Mil and 2 to 4 years to restore it. Just think when its running again what a kick it would be to ride on it. Unless you stand next to it you really dont know how huge these tanks were. No wonder they caused terror when they approached. Enjoy!!!! :D

Thanks for sharing the pix. When we get back to Reno next spring, I'd love to make a road trip and check these out.
