Allso, we are currently working on 2 additional senarios for FitE:

1. ) Case Blue: A senario that will start at the German summer offencive in 1942 to the end of the war.

2.) Citadel : A senario that will start at the epic battle of Kursk summer 1943 to the end of the war

These senarios and a new version of the Fite 1941, will arrive when Matrix games have updated TOAW. We are currently working with them to improve the game engine to make it more historical, and ofcause a better game.

BTW, I suggest that you find a book called "Moscow to Stalingard - Decision in the East" by Earl F. Ziemke. I bought it through Abe Books.

Excellent book and could help you with research of your Operation Blau scenario.

What exactly are you improving with the Matrix Edition? Just the weapons database(as was hinted in the interview) or something that's actually a new addition?

Well, we will try to improve alot of things, most noteworthy the allocation of local supply (shock ) for individual units (e.g raise the shock of a formation 7th Pz Div to 150%) Thereby allowing limited counterattracks/offencives. Now one can only give total overall shock affecting the entire map, and that sux ;D

Some equipment does not reflect real life. Mostly Norms idea of atillery. Having been a Drillsergent in the Royal Danish Atillery, i can say that a 203" does MUCH more dammage than a 105 cannon. Norms explains that he calculated rate of fire into his stats, still he is far from right. If u dont belive me check out the NATO guidelines for use of atillery. Remember around 80% of the casulties on the eastern front was due to Mortar/atillery fire.!!!!

About making the senario: FitE Case Blue, at the end of the Soviet counter offencive: This will severly cripple the Germans ability to conduct any major offencive. The main reason that Case blue was a succes, (becides the failed trust, and overextended Soviets) was the great deception number the Reichabweer pulled of, making the soviets (Stalin) think the trust was towards Moscow. The offencive caught the Soviets of ballance. Around Moscow, most soviet reseveres where deployed. If the Soviets have amble time to move these reserves, there will be no case Blau. ( and yes, the tide had allready shifted) Ofcause we could put them on static, or something, but still that wont prevent the soviets form building up the defences somewhat, making the Case Blau a limb version of the historical one.
