Air-Support Question (new scenario)

If I am play testing with making new scenarios (from the included maps) - How do I go about using Air-Support ??

Where do I place the aircraft that will be needed / used for CAS, Air-Strikes, etc? (meaning where on the map?? - Anywhere? or how do I go about placing them off the map (where they can't be attacked).

I just ran through a scenario creation process using some A-10's and palaced them about 20km offmap just fine. But it seems that everytime you load a newly created scenario the game leaves it up to the palyer to place units wherever you like. So the short answer is place them offmap but the long answer is "unkess you're reloading the scenario, then you can re-place them anywhere you like."
