...for Tourneys.

Could someone post the link to it please?

Have searched FAQs on the Forums and W.A.R.S., but had no luck.

Thanks, Waleed.

Well...

It was an unwritten rule as long as I've been here, but once I took over as the CM Section Administrator I made that a written rule in every tourney.

For the Ladder- also if a player had an opponent go MIA in any PBEM game and then notified me plus tried to re-contact his MIA opponent with no success I honored the 14 day no contact rule for the CM- Ladder. However in such a game the turns played must be at least 50% completed.

As far as I'm concerned if a player goes MIA it's the same as his units abandoning the field of battle.

All that said- I still believe it's always better to actually finish a game than taking the "No-Contact Victory" especially in a tournament where so much work as been done on it and the ending can affect all the other players involved.

Players can always make an, "Is anyone in contact with XX" post to see if his opponent is around.

The 14 Day No Contact Rule:

If you have had no contact with your opponent after 14 days with no prior notification of his absence you may declare a victory if your game is 50% or more completed. The CM Forum Coordinator should be notified of this occurance and an attempt to contact MIA player by him shall be made. The "victorious" player may declare any level of victory he believes he deserves or thinks he may have attained had the game continued, or take the victory he already has. Every effort should be made to continue the game if possibile.

Any "MIA" player may challenge the "ruling" with good reasons for his absence and if his opponent agrees the game may be continued.

It also helps to encourage voodoo magic - a much under utilised and neglected tool for the modern CM'er.

For example, in GoH VI, i'll be casting dark rituals and stabbing little effigies of ER in a tutu encouraging internet access wherever he goes to simply blow up for 15 day periods at a time.

Very Handy for those tight matches - not that ER and I will be having a tight match that is... :whist: he's the butter, i'm the hot knife, he's the egg, i'm the hammer, etc etc :whist: :crosseye:

Whta happens then if your on turn 14 of a 30 tirn battle and your opponent just bails? Surely a game accepted is a gane to be honourably won. What if I knew I was going to lose by turn 14 and just didnt reply? Not fair to my opponent.

Mind you, not that I last past 13 turns.................

If your opponent goes MIA on you less than 1/2 way through a game - (again with no word) he's just a jerk and you chalk it up as a quick way to know- never play him again.

It never hurts to mention it to others you PBEM with...
