Well then,
Perhaps we should start files on the enemy players. Playing styles etc.
Opinions? Input?
Good idea, i don't really know the tactical styles of the enemy, i know Pannonochio is a shrewd doublec-crossing commander. The last campaign had 3 teams so he/we ;) worked our magic this time its harder with only 2 sides. However, i should warn everyone, if the enemy does contact any of you privately and offers you some deal to good to refuse, don't trust em, it'll no doubt be a setup!
Not saying anyone would, or they will try, just a warning in case of any unforseen circumstances.
Dita, aef and i think Waape should have some good intel on tactical styles and characteristics.
Funnily, i read the old forums and somewhere there they mentioned i had a unstable psychological profile   or something like that. Well at least it seemed to worry em after a couple of op turns! ;)

Of them but, that could also be an advantage to us. They don't know some of us either.
I think the best thing for us is also to discuss our styles so we can get an idea of how we will play.

I have played both Stonefire and Vesku over at the BLITZ. They are both real players and not ghosts from the other team.
(That brings up an internal security matter that we should address) :nervous:
They are both good players.
VESKU(a Finn) is the current SP ladder leader at the BLITZ with a 65% win rate. He is primaraly a SPWAW player which accounts for over 95% of his 240+games. He has logged 10+/- MBT games and no WINMBT games. I have played him once at SPWAW and he is somewhat aggressivebut not rash. I managed a draw.
STONEFIRE(a Dane) is rated #20 out of 239 with a win rate of 58%. He is also primarily a SPWAW player wit only 8 of his 92 logged games being MBT games. None were WINMBT. of the 8 MBT games he only won 1. I have played him once in SPWAW and I suffered a decisive defeat. He was aggressive with his Recon units and methodical with his Armor. Good use of overwatch. A solid playerBut he has not won in 11 games.

I know JAGDPANTHER and ARTUR only from reputation at the BLITZ. Both are real players.
JAGDPANTHER(an American) is a former SP ladder leader at the BLITZ with almost 300! games under his belt. He has a 77% win ratio. Another SPWAW player and only 2 games are MBT of which he won one. I have never played him but he has a reputation as a very aggressive player. Aggressive to the point of rashness perhaps.
ARTUR(a Hungarian) has played only 10 recorded games at the BLITZ 6 of them MBT. He has a 60% win rate with no draws. Not much information on him.
I played Lupo a couple of times in SPWAW, it was my first time :o he broke me in ;)
Anyway, hard to judge as i was inexperienced in PBEM, and they were training scenarios anyway, but he one the first easily enough, it wasnt even and by a long shot anyway but i learnt alot.
The second game was straight after and i won, my method is usually fast and agressive to gain ground, i can play more methodically but this was training. This scenario was an even game and he advanced slowly and wisely, but i think his cautiousness also hindered his reaction to my tactics and once engaged he didn't react with much 'creativeness' and got himself into trouble. So i think he is a good player and can be dangerous, but if you be creative it might offset him a bit.
That was a couple of years ago now so who knows, but generally i think wargamers have a certain style that they use even when they change methods etc.
One funny bit i remember, not significant, i raced up to a hill and popped up over it with PzII's and blazed away to get his attention, even popped up next round with a tiger or panther. Within 2 turns i pulled out of that hill leaving a couple of marders to keep him interested and put the rest of the armour towards the centre or other flank. He bombed/rocketed that hill with everything he had for several rounds and wasted most of his ammo on it, geez that was fun!! :D
PANNONICUS - He was commander in last campaign of UN forces. I think he likes operational/intelligence matters more than tactical command. All the battles he played were practically won on operational level already, so it was only an excercise. I do not know how good he would be in a tough setup. I did not find him on ladders, so I do not know how much he plays. However, it seems he has good theoretical knowledge. (Was he in the army before?)
ARTHUR - I do not know too much of him. He is on the Blitz, he is real for sure, but he did not play too much role in the last campaign.

Both Artur and Pannonicus like the operational aspect of these campaigns. If history tells me anything they will both spend countless hours creating training scenario's and giving any newbies guidance.

That's what I was afraid of. This plays into Soviet doctrine. They don't work you at the tactical level. They pile drive-drive you at the operational level. Nothing like getting flanked by a whole TR to ruin your day. If these guys have their act together we could be in some deep Kimchi. The question is "Will they use Soviet Doctrine? "

to match them at that level.
I think we should have a anti-recon and screening force and then we can move to counter them.
We may have to use work some thing out. I will have more to say Sat, I drive a truck and have 5+ hrs a day to just drive and think with no stops.
