US Commanders/players, please discuss the US Force Organization here. Basically who will command/control what units.
I would like to command some US elements if possible.
I am also interested in commanding US Forces.

Well, the Canadians are shorthanded. Four seems a bit much.
We don't know how the operational game works.
Four may be OK but I don't know.
Things look like 2 BN commanders and the BDE CDR commanding the reserve (function) BN. I may be wrong.
There is also the issue of the DIV CDR.
I will volunteer to assist the Canadiens since they are shorthanded.
If no one takes Brigade command, I would do it - I gained some experience in Island Civil War canmpaign, so I think I can handle it.

A good possibility. No one has said anything. I too was thinking of Asking for Division or Brigade command. I am extremely well versed in US and WP doctrine.
On the other hand I was a wargamer well before a soldier and am not opposed to veteran wargamers taking the lead. I prefer the US model. There is room for dissent but once the decision is made it is final and we move on. Unless the situation changes.

If we have time to discuss things before you come to a conclusion then i'll vote for ya as CO, of course as long as i can formerly express dissent at it if i so choose. :smoke:

Actual NATO Command can be decided once we get to the point where units will be deployed on the Operational Map.
Right now the players for the National teams should make sure they understand their own internal Chain of Command and who will be responsible for communicating to higher "in an official capacity".
In addition, each "team" should be reviewing their OOB's.
OK, so who is commanding this brigade now? I think Shortreengage and me signalled interest. What do you others think?
(If I am not chosen, I would like to have the Tank Regiment from the Brigade.)

Well, it seems to be time to decide to decide.
The BDE will most likely be Task organised into three BN Task Forces.
2 will be Mech Heavy, 1 Balanced.
Mech will most likely be: TANK(M60A3), Mech(M2), Mech(M113),Mech(M113), AT(M901).
Balanced: Tank(M1), Tank(M1), Mech(M2), Mech(M2).
Normal base HHCs and FA, ADA, and ENG support.
Task organizations will be flexible and will likely change based on the mission.
Then I would go for the Balanced...
I suppose we will keep that in reserve initially, for counterattacks. Or this is what I would do. Maybe combining it with the West German unit equipped with Leo2. That would be formidable.

Radio Check. So far it is Shadowcouger, Waape and Me, yes?
Yes I am here. So what do I command exactly? Over!

Most likely Task Force 2/68 Armor. I'm still trying to squeeze out some more capabilities for the Brigade. We normally use large Battalion Task Forces. Some attachments are habitual. Some change from mission to mission.
You will likely have 2 Tank (M1), 2 Mech (M2), 1 Battery of 155 in direct support, Engineers, Stingers and Vulcans.
Have you had a look at the Task Force field manual I uploaded?

Hey Shadowcouger, Were you at?
What is the current player distribution and unit availability? We seem to be talking about US Command Org yet the Canadians are short on commanders. Perhaps we should consider laying out the players available v/s units that need commanders. If we are a Division size element, we would need at least nine (9) BN Commanders (3x for each line brigade w/ 3x maneuver BDEs), three BDE Commanders, and a Div Commander. Will there be a Divisional Cav Squadron?
Are we a composite division (multinational) or homogeneous Division?

Will there be a Divisional Cav Squadron? No. See below.
Are we a composite division (multinational) or homogeneous Division? This is an ad-hoc unit created to fill a gap in the line after 6 months of heavy and continuous fighting in Central Europe.
Refer to NATO vs WP Storyline thread (http://www.strategyzoneonline.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35425) for more details.

I looked at it, thank you! I would be fine with that armor you said.
