Just wondering....I am looking to make some of my own scenario's......like US troops going into Afghanistan.....

Just wondering...what would be the correct number of Assault troops in a Unit?....a unit say of the 75th Ranger Rgt.... And also what other equipment should be with them?

Jeeps? or Jeep AT + ?....

Javilan Missile? Or ITOW Missiles? (with these missiles, anti-armor missiles, is this just one missile.....or how is this reflected with the TOAW engine?...does this represent another person...or just the weapon system??)

With the troops....for say Special Forces units....Should they be

Assault

Or

Assault AT

Or

Assault AT +

Thanks for any advice....

Best answer is:

Depends....

Squad size varies from country to country, but what's more, equipment varies depending on the mission. Usually a squad would be a group of 10 men commanded by a Corporal. Usually 3 squads make up a Platoon commanded by a 2nd Lieutenant or a Sargent, 3 Platoons plus a Weapons platoon make up a Company. The weapons Platoon would be the recipient of medium machine-guns (like the M-60) and the 60mm light mortars.
3 Companies and a Heavy weapons company will make up a Battalion. Said heavy weapons company would typically have HMG Platoon, Mortar Platoon (81mm) and AT Platoon (Dragon, Milan ATGMs)

Weapons will comprise assault rifles, grenades, a Squad light machine-gun and some AT launchers. AT, AT- or AT+ would be dependent on the AT capability of the launcher: 60mm M-1 Bazooka = AT-; Panzerfaust 3= AT+; M-72 LAW= AT more or less. I believe the US armed forces assign Javelins down to Platoon level.
