View Full Version : Divided Ground: campaign files corrupted?

I just got hold of Divided Ground.

The campaign start screen is all distorted. (Buttons all in the wrong place.) And it won't start due to a reading error.

I've patched the game. And I've even tried changing the compatibility to Win2000 (I'm using XP). Still doesn;t work.

Anybody got any suggestions for a solution?

can't say offhand. for what its worth, i'm using DG fine with XP home edition.

did you buy it second hand? have you tried reinstalling (with virus protection turned off)? do EF or WF run okay on your PC?

Nope not second hand. EFII and RS runs great on my system.

I'll try reinstalling with antivirus turned off. Thanks. : )

This happens when you have XP.
all you need to do is delete the saved campaign game youve got(you saved it in the wrong place) For some unknown reason XP saves the campaign files by default in my documents or some such ridiculous place. So find the saved file and delte it or cut and paste it to your DG folder. Then start the campaign screen again, it should be okay now. Then when you save the game, dont accept the default save loaction, browse and select the DG folder.

You only have to do this once as XP will remember for the next time.

Thanks for the tip. :)

I did notice it much later that day, and did like you said, after that it worked great.

There is something else strange going on. When I turn on the viewable hexes, instead of just darkening the unobservable hexes, it colors them over with blue. Is this suppose to be or is something wrong.

That happened to me aswell. I think I changed the screen resolution and that fixed it. Give it a try.
