Gahh!! Whenever I try to set up an online account it either gives me an error message saying the name is already in use or it does nothing for like 15 minutes by which point I get frusterated and shut the game down. Does it usually take this long to make an online account?

The account server is still having problems AFAIK. Since last night it hasn't let me log in, and the same with many others. Try again later I guess.

Although that could be the problem (ports), it wouldn't be spotty performance like Nap is having (sometimes it tells him its already used), it should be off all the time.

Actually, you're wrong. :) That was exactly the problems I had until I opened the ports.

Hehe...it could be then. I guess if you have an industrial-strength Cisco router you may have to open some ports...;)

I'm not sure my Cisco router is industrial strength. It's not that fancy.

Someone hacked Gamespy and they are working on it. Thats why most of the weapons were unlocked the past couple of days.

Well, I do have a Cisco router and it is pretty heavy duty. How would I go about opening ports?

Just do what I did, bud. Wake up around 3:00AM CST and give it a go. Worked for me.

Gamespy wasn't hacked. The problem existed in the previous patch, if you wanna call it a patch at all, and extended to the developer code deep in the game.
