Towards the end of August, we will be releasing a new patch, 1.03. This patch is currently underway and will undergo thorough testing before it goes out to avoid the problems that have occurred in the past. There are over 140 fixes and improvements in this patch. Here are just a few of them:

Server and Client performance improvements
Improved Server Browser – added Favorites and History Lists.
Point-farming prevention - game will stop Support/Medic/Engineer point farming exploits.
Squads - locked squad leader will get a message if someone wants to join.
Many HUD improvements - see the names of others in your vehicle, zoom level changing depending on vehicle, map zoom depending on map setup (16, 32 or 64 player map) etc.
Teamkilling changes – the logic of how teamkills are tracked will be changed.
Gameplay tweaks - the way transport helicopters work will be tweaked.
Additional scoring changes - players who destroy an enemy commander's assets will be given points.

It also says they know the availability of ranked servers isn't quite what people want, especially during peak hours, so they are in the process of adding more official ones.

I would say "Hurry up and release the patch!" because of how much I want this....but we all know what happens when they rush patches...:whist:

Interesting stuff, August isn't really that bad of a date though. At least they're planning to have the patch out before the freaking expansion. :p

The question I ask myself is why they simply didn't develop the game until the end and sold it for christmas.
(not that I won't miss it :P)

In many cases it comes from pressure from the publisher rather than the developer saying it's ready. It takes a real powerful development team like id Software or Valve (although, they don't need a publisher anymore apparently) to say "when it's done."

You are definately right!
That's why I don't blame anybody, its just something that keeps me really wondereing, why did they want the game out at that time of the year when it was obvious that many things requiring minor fixes did not work in the release version.
And I mean normally the games do go out for christmas don't they?
Hm maybe they wanted to prove that nowadays people buy games all the year.
