New patch, 1.02 released! [Archive]

"The hotfix for Battlefield 2 v1.01 is now available for download. This update replaces v1.01 and fixes the said memory leak."

Since I have almost certainly determined my manual, and therefore my CD-key, is gone for good - I will go cry now.

Before getting into a multi-player game, I went to the eagames site to download and install the v1.02 patch. Now it seems each time that I try to enter a server, after the pre-resquisite delay, I am told:

"This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of Battlefield 2 to the current official version".

Anyone else get this? Is there a work around? Has everyone upgraded?

Hmmm...that is strange. Everyone has upgraded to the patch you speak of, and I haven't heard of any problems. What makes this harder to troubleshoot, is the 1.02 patch actually refers to itself as the 1.01 patch...so its hard to tell exactly what you have.

I would say just verify that you really have the 1.02 patch, and maybe try a reinstall of the patch.

Yes, while downloading it refered itself to v1.01. I will try to reinstall the patch, see what happens.

It was just named incorrectly.

Re-installed, game ran, joined a multi-player and actually got some kills after some time away from the old BF1942.

Just need to find the ACG players and their server. :)
