I'm offering Jamian right of first refusal since we'd had a 1.7 game started a few months ago but since he appears to've dropped off the board entirely I don't think it'll be an issue.
I want to give a 3 or 3 turn spin hotseat to see how the inability of the TE to divide will affect the east front since my russian defense relied heavily on doing just that so I won't be capable of getting anything out until mid/late next week.
I'm open to taking either side, because i'm semi-tempted to start one of each, but unless/until the end of the opening offensives compressed the work of turns significantly I wouldn't be able to get turns out at a reasonable rate.
Once past the initial deployment phase should be able to turn my turns around in 72ish hours, and I'd prefer an opponent capable of a similar rate.

I'd like to add that I'd prefer a relatively historical opener, as opposed to 'what if the germans stayed defensive in the west while dumping everything at the czar and the brits attempted to storm istanbul in fall 1914. history will inevitably diverge as the game gets going ofc.

OK Dan, your on. I don't have that scenario, so send me turn one or the file if you want me to go first I should have no problem with your desired rate of play.

If you don't care I think I'll take the CP. I'm slightly behind on my test if my ideas for the CP workout well enough I'll recycle the save I made for it and send it to you in a day or three. The scenario and briefing doc are at the below address, since there're extensive houserules used to manage c&c limitations, national transport limits, and the naval campaign you really do need to read, or at least skim (and have handy for reference) the doc before playing.

You take the CP. I have version 1.7 and have looked it over and read the docs. I'll pick up the new version tonight, if I can find that pass word book. (hid it before vacation-did a good job)
Dan and Maestro;
Did you guys ever prosecute this game?
If so, is there anything you care to mention?

We got about 2 months in before calling a halt.
I'm now a firm believer in the need for narrow front c&c rules. What began as a diversionary raid into poland with the intend of reducing presure north and south ended up sucking in 20 or 30 divs because of the neccesity of establishing a solid front everywhere to prevent being flanked. Sucking this much manpower caused the front in the west to stablilze along the franco-belgain border while in east it was largely on the prewar borders+ the vistula in poland.
Did you use the CC+ rules?
How does
'army to korps=3 hexes', 'korps to div= 2 hexes',
sound to you as a compromise?
Or are you still in favor of the 'korps to div= 1 hex' range? .
