View Full Version : Strange Happenings on My Machine After Patching!

Not sure what other's experiences have been, but this latest patch has caused problems on servers (See: http://www.wargamer.com/news/news.asp?nid=2276)
Supposedly it does NOT cause problems on clients, but ever since applying the patch, I have gotten BSOD's related to memory, ...which leads me to believe it is more insidious a problem.
Not only that, but I was also on a server for about 45 minutes when I was booted for a "Punkbuster Violation", as if I had just logged-on the server and was booted after 2 minutes.
Weird stuff!
BTW, I should be on NLT 5pm Central tonight - I will be on X-Fire.

Hmmmm....does the BSOD only occur when playing BF2? That PB thing I doubt is related to the patch (weren't you having problems with it before?). No problems here to report.

No, it was a friend of mine that had the PB problems,...this is my first encounter with it.
As for the BSOD, it happened the first time I started BF2 after the patch as a map was loading, then again right after I disconnected from BF2 after playing for 1 hour.

Not too much mention of memory errors on BF2 forums (some, but not a lot to give assumption to a large patch problem). You aren't overclocking are you?

Ok...I'm in Linux now but when I go back to Windows I'll do that....can't wait to use the instant joining.
