Demo Question

How can I make the demo run full screen? I have the one that covers the Korean Conflict 1950-1951 but I can only make it run in a 1/4 of my screen. I run my desktop resolution at 1600x1200 so I am assuming that it is running at 800x600. The only way I could get it to work was if I reduced my desktop resolution all the way down to that but then it screws up many other things like my wallpaper and shortcut placement.

Anyone have an idea of how to get it to work? From what I have played I think I am going to like the game but would like to be able to get it to run on my system.

24 people looked at this and no one knows what I am doing wrong? Is this just something that happens to the demo or is the full version like this? If that is the case, I think I am going to have to pass on TOAW.

No idea mate, running TOAW in 1024x768 without problem, guess it's a limitation of the demo version, never played it though.

Ok thanks for the reply. I really like the flexibility of the TOAW engine and the Korean War game I have been playing is pretty damn fun. I rolled through the South Koreans and captured about 3/4 of the country. By Turn 8 or so the green counters (I am assuming American and/or other Allies) showed up and staged an amphibious landing north of my lines. Well not knowing any better I had all my troops reinforcing the front line, I was pulling back anyone who got really messed up and replacing them on the lines. I had antiscipated more reinforcements coming towards the line I built up and had my units dug in and defending while some of my infantry caught up and got set into place.

Unfortunately with the amphibious landing, I had to pull some of my troops north to drive them back to the ocean. When that happened the Allies took advantage of my weakened eastern flank and pushed north enveloping the rest of my front lines.

Tonight we will see what happens with the rest of the game.

I've never had my screen in 800x600 mode and in the past I've run the demo. So I am 99% sure the demo is not hard coded to anything in particular.

The full version works in any resolution. THAT much I am certain. :)

Hmm... well maybe it is just the version I downloaded. Anyone got any idea of where I can download another so I can try. I got the one I have off of some obscure spanish sight since I couldn't find any english links.

I plan on buying the full version but this might keep me tied over untill it comes in the mail. Besides I have duty tomorrow and it's a long night in the Barracks staring at the wall.

I've got the demo sitting in a temp folder until we get the TOAW Zone up and running again. This one came directly from Norm himself, so I know it is good.
