Really like the AAR, especially the way you post the screenshots to correspond with the action. Can you direct me to where I could find this scenario?
Mark, watch your inbox :devious:
Thanx, Ranger!
Turn 9 posted.
I realize that people were able to get the scenario, as it had to be made available on the board for our 8 player game. But Jeremy (the designer) has asked that no ladder games be played, and has not released the scenario for 'public consumption' yet - it is still in playtest phase.
The scenario itself is fantastic, and I would greatly appreciate it if all of you would follow suit with me... Jeremy graciously provided many different versions of this scenario to me for personal playtesting, and I have reciprocated by providing him with a very detailed AAR for all the games I've begun since I joined WFHQ. (I'm at 3 AARs in progress now?)
Please, if you have a copy of the scenario, either email Jeremy (his addy is in the scenario briefing) and ask if he minds that you play through it, or better yet, provide him with an AAR detailing your exploits to assist in the development of the game.
It's only by his good graces that *any* of us have the scenario, and we should repay his kindness!
Sorry to preach, but I'm about 99% responsible for this scenario becoming 'known' on WFHQ, and I don't want to go against his wishes! Jeremy is a very easygoing fellow, and I highly doubt he'd have a problem with anyone playing, should they simply ask first!
I'm also going to remove the link. If anyone else would like to get a copy, a quick email is likely all that is required!

Just wanted to let you know Mantis that I've been an eager reader of yours and others AAR of this very interesting scenario.
The AAR's are detailed and often give good insights into the players thoughts on tactics and operational moves.
This has made me curious about what Jeremy takes for granted in this hypothetical scenario. Did the US decide not to intervene in Europe? The Japs also refrained from attacking them? and then the Axis destroyed all opposition everywhere in the world except America and US naval bases in the Pacific? Following this the US kept on proclaiming neutrality believing they would be left alone but begins to build up the army and modernize it?
Is this ca. what is the bases for the scenario? And could you maybe tell me when it is assumed Hitler decides to attack US?

There is a full documentation file with an alternate history of the war. Basically, the Axis rolls through Russia and actually invades Britain. America sends assistance to Britain, but it falls anyway. The Allies go ahead with Operation Torch, but in 1942 (I think offhand, I'm not looking at the file right now) which is crushed as well. So, the situation is the Axis basically has Russia contained, having captured all of the industrial areas and is basically just garrisoning it. The U.S. has lost 35 of their best divisions and is in full-mobilization mode when the threat of the German invasion looms. The U.S. logistics begin horribly snarled due to the mobilization effort, but they clear up within the first few turns (basically this means rail capacity). Jeremy has written a much more detailed history than I presented here, and it's quite interesting.
THIS, at least, I can offer up to the public.
This is the briefing, btw!
:)
OOPS! Sorry if I broke any protocol - I sent RangerBooboo 1.16 of this scenario. I thought it was open to all.

Thanks for the briefing Mantis.
Nice fiction supported with loads of detailed work. Jeremy certainly deserves a praise:clap:

it's not a huge problem, and as I've said, I'm sure Jeremy would have no problems with anyone playing it, as long as they asked him, and respected his no ladder wishes. He didn't have a clue who I was when I first emailed him, and he was very helpful, answering my questions with detailed emails, etc.
I just wanted to be sure that I'm not the cause of Fall Grau being 'generally available' when the author hasn't released it yet!
:D
Drop him a quick email at streax@sympatico.ca and ask if he minds if you give it a go!

Thanks Sturlungur!
The AARs take almost as much time as playing the game, so it's always nice to hear that people appreciate your efforts, and better yet, are able to glean some valuable information from the report! Truth be told, I enjoy the AAR process almost as much as playing! (That might change if Mensch or Chuck start handing me my head, however! :D)

I will certainly e-mail Jeremy if I get to where I can play it. Right now I've got more then enough games going to keep me busy. Mainly wanted to look it over for myself. Thanks to those of you who sent it to me.
A (very) slow turn 10 posted.
Turns 11, 12 and 13 posted. Things have picked up a little!

I don't mind people having it if you plan to mess around with it or play it. In fact in this case I am interested in any comments you have to offer.
If your just interested in completing your collection of having every scenario ever made...you might as well wait till I put out the final version and save yourself the trouble of downloading it again.
Back to the action, as I finally catch up on all my turns.
US turn 14 posted.
US turn 14 posted.
Turn 15 AAR should be a little more interesting.
