Rock on!

http://www.planetbattlefield.com/bf2/stats/

It is in the early stages of development...The first input field is for userIDs, which is a number, so I suggest using the second field. It displays the rankings and stats of any player....everything you can see in BF2 (and some more)....very cool stuff! There are both python and PHP implementations of it....and you can even put the stats in picture format for a forum sig.

It's cool on the one hand, but sort of sucks that it apparently only uses ranked server information. I've certainly done more than 14 points worth of gaming LOL. I don't have time to wait for ranked servers to open up. I just play on fast servers with lots of people.

Well, but that is the point of the ranking system. People who want to play competitively can play on ranked servers where everything is tracked and recorded. People who are just playing for fun can play on unranked servers where it doesn't really matter if your kill-to-death ration is "good enough" - where nothing is recorded.

I don't disagree with you at all, I just think it is a shame that those ranked servers are so few and far between as to make it nearly impossible to get on them without sitting around hoping one opens up.

Yeah, I think that is my only major gripe with BF2 right now. Even in off times there are only a few favorable servers available, and in peak hours its nearly impossible to find anything (let alone for more than one person if you are playing with friends). Add that to the fact that the server browser isn't exactly spectacular and you have a recipe for a headache.

On a forum someone brought up an interesting point:

A clan for example can rent a ranked server, and then password it. So they can have someone connect with a dummy account (or a few people) and artificially boost their score. :whist:

Yeah, I have seen screenshots of people who do this. Even on public servers, they just get a medic, a dummy-guy, and a shooter. The shooter shoots the dummy-guy who is then revived by the medic, and then they just do that over and over....but most of the time these people can be spotted (they have scores of like 400 teamwork, 0 kills, 1 death), so its not much of a problem (unless you want to be #1 on the leaderboards or something).

All ranked servers are not created equal. I joined up on one last night thinking I was FINALLY going to find some good squads playing. An hour later I was still switching around to different squads looking for a leader who was actually giving orders. So, I end up being squad leader and find that my guys are running willy nilly all over the place refusing to listen to me! Losers!

Maybe it is just me, but it seems harder and harder to find squads these days. I think as more people get the game, more and more people are just going in and running around like this is deathmatch or something. :(

Both Overseer and Gobeavs were away from keyboard last night...so the 2 guys I can count on to play as a squad were gone. Lame!

If you ever know when you are going to play, shoot me a message so I can try to be on during that time. I don't have much really set in stone schedule wise, so I'm usually pretty flexible.

I played a little bit last night, and we got a bunch of guys in a blackhawk in Mashtuur City....those gatling guns on the sides of the blackhawk are DEVESTATING! I ended up with like 26 kills, 10 deaths....which leads me to a question: Do commanders not get as many points for kills as regular team members? I had 26 kills, but only 19 overall points....I should have had somewhere around 52 points.

EDIT: On another note, sometimes even if I'm not in a squad, I can get really good teamwork. Being a medic, I guess people want to be around me when they go into firefights so I usually end up assaulting a base with a couple guys who know what they are doing.

They have updated the software, so you can see more information at a glance. In fact, it shows how crazy the stats can be. The first guy had one game were he scored 3000+ points (normally an awesome scrore on a normal game would be 100 points).

Also, there are "Experts" out there with the knife. I find that hard to believe unless I just play a different style. I mean I could see using it to stab a newbie sniper or something...but using it enough to be rated as an expert? Something fishy about that...

At least my stats are pure. :smoke:

You probably already figured this out, but I believe the losing commander only gets the average total of the entire team score. I assume this was a game where you lost? :whist:
