View Full Version : US Civil War scenarios for ACOW1.4??
I've looked most of the places I know to look, but a American Civil War scenarios that I've run across are for earlier versions of TOAW than ACOW. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
Edit- OK I got the 3 scenarios from Warfare HQ, but they seem to be way on the large-scale side of things (picky, picky!) I've see some scn's on battles like Corinth, Shiloh, etc. anything similar?

Thing is, TOAW is primarily an Operational game (hence the title). Whilst some people (Bob Cross comes to mind) have experimented with using it at the tactical scale which would be essential to meaningfully model these battles, it's not really best suited to it.
TOAW's the best thing out there for a lot of 20th century operational simulation. There are, however, better games to do the Civil War at a tactical scale. At least that's my understanding.
Someone made a tactical Gettysburg scenario a few years ago but it suffered from not having a modified exe. Even then, it is very difficult to morp TOAW into a 19th century tactical warfare modeling tool.

Wasn't me. "Killer Angels 1863" has 8km hexes and one-day turns - operational scale. Even "Waterloo 1815" has 2.5km hexes and 6-hour turns - still operational.

Yeah? It has all the business with the multiple armies running around Belgium?
Anyway, I fall back on another example- Richard Bradley. He's not been around much in the last couple of years, though, and has never finished a scenario.

Did he ever create any tactical scenarios? I know it was discussed a lot - the elephants - but never knew anything was produced.

Check "pre-playtest scenarios". His Pyramides is a tactical scenario. Complete junk, of course.
