Briefing: As the fighting between Rebel and Pro-Government forces intensifies to the north in Zone G, the time has come to begin moving your forces into position for the final offensive to restore peace to the island.

Mission: Push your units across the river and eliminate any encountered Rebel troops scouting the area. Taking terrain is not as important destroying Rebel units especially if Pro-Government troops can seize the town in Zone G and prevent the Rebels from recieving any reinforcements/replacements.

Standing by! Maybe we can play it before WinSP comes out!
I wonder why there is no battle in G with rebels - I wanted to pound them with artillery.

Would it be possible to join with Akatsyas to the battle between rebels and government? I would target the mayor's office, and keep firing at it during the battle. With a range of 30km (with modern, Base Bleed ammunition) it should be possible.

OK, I have sent the battle file to your opponent via email. Your password was sent in an email to you and the battle is using PBEM Slot # 4. Your opponent will go first.

I wonder why there is no battle in G with rebels - I wanted to pound them with artillery. I did this based on the orders form both teams and to keep it simple with the Pro-Gov and Rebels fighting the main battle 1st.

With a range of 30km (with modern, Base Bleed ammunition) it should be possible.Would they (Pro-Gov) be given operational control (off-board) of these guns for the battle or would you want an actual UN Commander added to the Pro-Gov side/roster to actually execute/shift, etc the fire orders for the guns?

I would opt for the second one.
And then in a way of RPGing it our like the gov cmdr should send a message to us to request fire on a specific target or something (just maybe :P)

Yes, I would opt for the second option. Mr. Clark, would you be our liaison officer.

Well, I can give the rebel leader (whoever it is) my mail adress, problem is that I'll be away in Australia for quite some time in a week.

Battle has started.

An infantry platoon moved through the bridge without opposition. No enemy in sight anywhere yet. Other platoons follow, the Hind is hovering above, protecting them.

Rafters completed they crossing further up, they are now massed on the riverbank, they will disperse next turn.

Everything is going smooth, the hardest part is over, now its juts a normal land battle.

Rebels were moving down the road, less than a company. They had a SAM, HONG YING 5!!! I wonder how they got it, we have to check the embargo, it is not working well around the island...

So we must be careful, they probably have more than one of these... Fortunately, my ZU-23 spotted it, and destroyed in 1 turn. It was really effective as a "heavy MG" from the other side of river.

So both companies moved through the river unharmed, and then they started to form up, very nicely putting rebels into an iron bracket. The helicopter closed their way of retreat, so whenever they tried to move, they got nailed from the front (squads+ZU-23), flank (UN coy with rafts) and rear (Hind-E). So poor guys were huddling on the road, pinned.

Then 2 Mirage F1s came, and dropped bombs on them. It was complete destruction, they were wiped out in a few seconds.

Only 5 battered squads survived, then the Hind finished one more, but received light arms fire, so it returned to the base for minor repairs.

Then unfortunately the battle ended, without UN being able to kill everyone. (They had no chance to escape, we were around them.)

UN lost only 1 person, the road is clear to liberate G Zone!

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
