Just curious to see how many are actually still play-testing with POA2 - (I was following one of the AAR on a game that was going on...but that seems to have fallen off).

Is anyone from HPS reading this forum? If so, any comments are up coming patches or if the scenario creator will be working fully.

I am just trying to get a over view on if I am going to reinstall POA2 (for the 4th time or not).

I get an uneasy feeling that Scott and HPS are slowly winding down POA2, regardless of its current state. I think they look at POA2 as a lessons learned and are looking past it to POA3.

As far as HPS reading the forums, not having or participating in a forum is one of the most glaring lack of customer focus policies I have seen in a wargame company. E-mail reponses are all good, but letting everyone in on the conversation on a forum saves everyone time and frustration. It is unfair for Scott to expect his customers to pass the word on to the community. In the end, his cusomers on this forum became the support group for POA2. Support group is probably a good term for the people on this forum.

I still play around with POA2, but having spent a considerable amount of time playtesting and pouring over the database, I am realizing that even the database was pretty much thrown together. Just look at some of the armor values on the units added after the release. I still hold out hope that it may get working yet. But in the end, like Squad Battles, inability to easily make scenarios with new maps and lack of focus from HPS is killing POA2 faster than the bugs.

I've pretty much chalked this game up to being dead, I really do not see a commercial version of POA3 being released.

This may work for the military but from the emails I saw from Scott they are just running AI vs AI to get some what if information.

Maybe I'll be wrong, but it will also take a whole lot of work and a lot of good reviews before I even think about buying another version.

School took me out of the loop completely... but if a new build comes out I fire it up and see what's imrpoving and what's not.

I’ve pretty much given up on the simulation, it’s over a month since I last sent any bug reports to Scott.

It’s a crying shame, POA2 had the potential of becoming one of the greats, but I have to agree with my fellow testers that it looks like HPS has decided to learn valuable lessons and move on.

What I will say, I’ve never known a more dedicated group of supporters and HPS should be proud to have had them on board.

I agree that with all my early play-testing I thought POA2 could really turn into quite a good game (of course this depended on all or most of the game killing bugs being worked out).

Scott did put out a lot of pacthes early on but as we all know they were basically just part of a BETA POA2 - In that some worked, others didn't and all caused additional issues to pop up.

However, if the scenario editor and the dataview could have got up and working (along with the game play mode) I could have really seen myself putting some time into POA2 -

But without the dataview and sceanrio editor I just can't see myself reinstalling - (unless some additional patches come out). Though I haven't recieved an email from Scott in at least a month now -

Talked with Scott today - A new build is coming out (260) - will be out later today or tomorrow -

Additional builds will be coming out - Still committed to seeing POA2 through till the end.

That's good news. I am one of those people waiting for it to ripen. Bought it early to support Scott, but still don't consider the game "delivered" yet.
