No battle generator in DG???

Hi,

I just installed Divided Ground into my PC and played awhile. I was amazed as I noticed that in main menu was only "Scenarios", "Campaign", "Edit" etc. BUT not battle generator at all??? So is this really "true" thing (every other Campaign Series games has battle generator since this...) or do I have somehow "damaged" version about DG??? Can anyone tell me truth? Has Talonsoft done any patch to fix this or is DG really meant to be "only scenario/campaign-style" game?

Hey Warhero, you are correct in noticing that there is no battle generator for DG. I, among others, was disappointed with this when I first discovered it, though I take solace in the fact that over time, an ever-growing # of player-made modded scenarios (there's a bunch of em!), unit mods, OOB mods, new nationality mods, and even new versions (Divided Ground - Vietnam) are making Divided Ground better all the time.

If you want to play a WW III scenario - americans vs. russians, or fight the VC in the mekong delta, create a fight between two arab clans in afghanistan, or just want the APC's and light tanks in DG to have better armor, you will find it all with (a modded) Divided Ground.

www.theblitz.org is my favorite place. You will want to check out the last page or two of posts on this forum - look for DG vietnam posts - and any links in those threads may lead you to another website or two. I'm pretty sure the DG Vietnam mod CANNOT be accessed at theblitz.

You will ultimately want 4 things for your DG game:

new scenarios for DG - these are not DG Vietanam scenarios

new OOB/nationality mods - these add new countries to the list of forces you can play. A must-have. Note that some of these nationalites have no scenarios created for them yet - maybe you will be the first?

DG "tweak" mod - fixes many unrealistic stats in DG - it even re-skins and renames many units! This mod is my favorite.
DG Vietnam - this is the mother of all CS mods. You will want the scenario, the upgrade/patch to v. 2.0, the new scenarios (some are untested but they are still great fun), and any readme files you see.
