Ok, the Allied update is going to be next, followed immediately by the Axis update.

Here's some teasers!

Allies - the US has declared war, and even now are in the middle of the Torch landings in Africa!

Axis - The Supreme Commander used the best intel available, and ordered some fresh recon info from the KM. The beaches have been chosen, and the initial landings were successful.

Sealion begins!

I have many new screenshots for you guys, and will provide turn-by-turn updates for the duration of Sealion (however long it may last!)

Stay tuned!

Dr. S:

You can have the British Isles. If the uppity Americans are landing divisions in North Africa in 1940 (ridiculous!) to try and make trouble or prevent our glorious Reich from achieving our own manifest destiny, european style, with no reinforcements possible for a year, then indeed, I'm holding out for Gauleiter of New York, USA! ;)

And remember, If Britain goes down, it will have effects from the awful choise of either Hitler or Stalin controlling the whole masse of Euro-Asia Contintent.

But the Pacific too shall miss the small contrubution that the Brit's will shurely make if they just get the nazi's out of their Island!!!

We are trusting on you guys now, without your direct help, we are screwed!

Gentlemen; notice he said the initial landings were successful. Not that they advanced inland or followup waves were successful.

Hey Mantis:

Time for an update and facts. Know you're busy... but too many days passing without updates breaks the continuity of this process. And I'm starting to yawn with all the Allied propaganda here on a "joint" thread. No doubt they need to buck up those Brits...

Sorta brings back fond memories though; reminds me of ol' Chamberlin declaring we had missed the bus .. right before the bus ran over him!

You NAZIS are all the same. Speak loudly and boast till you run into good British steel than scream like little girls. No matter how many NAZI jackboots land on England; the United Kingdom and Commonwealth will never surrender. Also remember that now that the United States is in the war; you're going to be out produced and then there is Uncle Joe at your back. How long will he continue to wait? :-)

AMEN!

Actually the modern day sissi, are more into special infil ops.

They get weapons training on every basic weapon (Including artillery) that's going.

They spend most of their time in the army living and training in the forrest,(winter and all). So, they are somekind of special forrest forces nowadays.

Guess they were that in ww2 too...

The other 'special, or 'elite' forces in the Finnish army, incase anybody want's to know, are the paratroops.

Not your usual mass of para's.
But usually a small group of anywhere from four to twenty men, who use the airplane as an infil method, then they revert to the similar kind of things that the Sissi would do after they hicked behind enemy lines, but perhaps with smaller groups, the closest one get's to green berets in Finland (IMHO).

Then you get your coastal Jäegers.
Marine infantry, following the traditions set by the various groups from other countries who preceeded them, the RM, Rikusentai (Japanese ww2 Marine Infantry), cold war soviet Marine infantry, US Marine raiders and scouts ect.

Then there are the Guards (Kaarti), units, who mix MP and urban warfare/usual infantry training with extencive squad sized unit weapons training, with lot's of live ammo and house to house. They are not as hard ass in the forrest like all above, but second only to the paratroops in close combat weapons fight training.
Also, they train absailing into buildings, vip protection, and in buiding fighting.

(I served in the guards, that's why the more detailed info, still in the forrest, I give the sissi, and the paratroops their due, and in a coastal enviroment I would not like to mix with the coastal jäegers).

P.S. the combat divers are very very hard nails.

And the airforce Hornet pilot's, are very professional, the ammount who make it from the original applicants is very small, Finland can afford it as we have a relatively small airforce.

And, the Jäegers are pretty good at cross country fighing, I know I did my first ten weeks in a jäger company, and it wasnt like there was much spare time left!

Also, we have some good SAM's from Russia the SA-12 families mobile systems.

Tech developed by NOKIA.

Leopard 2's backed up with T-72's. (In dence pine forrests, the distance, and heat signatures become less of a problem, a man I used to work with was in the border guards when in the army, and they tried to locate a man in winter with a heat camera from a helicopter, he was hiding under the canopy of the dence firn forrest, they couldnt find him. And this was before the Finnish army produced the new winter-autumn jacket that cut's off heat eminations)!

p.s.

Sorry for the rant, and my hat off to SECRET AGENT! :)

GET THE FINN'S ON THE ALLIED SIDE AND INVADE NORWAY!!!

German chortle: British Steel -- in your WWI swords -- is about all the weapons the Home Guard has left after the BEF ran away from Krupp Steel at Dunkirk! :p

You bloody English are so singleminded focusing on the Channel over Seelowe -- I'm afraid you forgot to look up!!! Too late!

Ha! Usual Nazi single track minds at work!

The Fallschirmjäger in the picture are all British MI6-COMMANDO agents, dressed in the uniforms, of all the massacred Fallschirmjägers, and are about to take herr Hitler for 'a ride'...

Sorry for the delays, gents. I just finished my review on World at War (you can see it on the front of SZO), so I can again devote my time to the *important* things in life, like the updates for the EA-ICS! I'll have something for you tomorrow!

Yep, mee too, and I belive after 'our war' is vitorious for the allies ofcourse, then I would like to start talking about how to imporve this system, I see a future in a great interactive ww2, where many people can become involved.

Perhap's, a combination of Grisbys new game for the weapons and industry side of things, and the toaw scenario for the battles, would seem the best to try next time, if you see where I'm going.

Well let's fight this war first, but I see even a commercial future for this kind of wargaming myself, and am exited about the consept.
