Anyone have any manner of input update or info on how SP Camo's progress has been till today on the new Windows type versions of their games?
Hi,
My guess is that the game is 99% ready.

Hi,
The game is 99% ready.Ahhh! A voice from the inside.
Heck I was hoping for maybe 75% hehe. 99% is very encouraging.
I was sure would have any some small amount of hurdles dragging it out of DOS.
Just glad to hear things have moved along this well sounding.

Can't wait to play WinSPMBT! Whan it is due?Last word was late/end of Spring.
If I had to guess, I would say that the game would be available the moment is 100% ready.
This could mean 1-3 weeks... but its better to wait a little in order to enjoy a solid game. :smoke:
p.s There are several NEW features that are SUPERB!!!
Im really hoping for a dramatic enhancement in the graphics. IS this the case? Even to the starnderd of the old Close COmbat games would be excellent. Its what keeps me away from SPWAW. Im not a graphic person really (I even like Squad Battles 2D graphics!) but SPWAW in particular I find to harsh on the eyes.

p.s There are several NEW features that are SUPERB!!!I'm really hoping we can get some utilities for SPMBT like there are for SPWAW such as Fred Chandla's tools. Especially the WAW Map where you can cropout sections of maps and create smaller maps or paste smaller maps together to create the max allowed sized one.
Basically things to help me with running Combat Campaigns. :whist:

*drools* any screenshots we could see? how many Vietnam scenarios, any campaigns??
I just want it to run, I just want it to run, I just want it to run :)
You have any idea what it feels like to have one of the truely great wargames, and not have any way to run it? :)
Now, who's going to make SP3 cooperate and run properly on my computer :)
Hey, I will BUY a Windows XP functional Steel Panthers 3 Brigade Combat update eh.
I am probably not alone in that statement.

You are right, I am sorry I can't really tell you more  :hush: :dead: !!!
But there is at LEAST one great gameplay improvement over the other SP variants that will eliminate a "gamey" tactic... :smoke: :whist:
Hmmm, I just hope that we are not disappointed. I think we`ve all got such high hopes for this, that there is a chance we may be disapointed. Expecting lots of new features, but they may not be present in the first release.
Hang on, what am I saying, of course we wont be disapponted!
The people over at SPCAMO group always do an excellent job :)

Expecting lots of new features, but they may not be present in the first release.:)Personally I think just having it ported to run in windows without potential players having to jump through hoops and screw with batch files, installing old DOS related files, etc just so it will run on their PC is a monumetal step. Just that alone IMHO will cause us to see a significant spike in new players.
Yes, you`re right there.
I cannot begin to imagine what is involved to port this over to native windows. I`m sure there will be alot more people more willing to try this out if they haven`t got to mess around with DOS
I don't care an iota if they do NOTHING to alter the last version beyond making it run on my computer, with proper mouse control and proper sound.
Now granted, anything beyond that will be gravy :)
And gravy is nice.
But, the last version was great, it just doesn't like Windows XP.

I've got to agree that I don't need any improvements if I can just get SPMBT to run on my XP without having to sacrifice a goat during each full moon and doing more computer file manipulation then it took to get Apollo 13 home.
