View Full Version : Weird Cave Bug in Rising Sun

OK, I'll try and repost this question since it was lost in that little Forum Exodus we just had.

Anyway, for some strange reason, whenever I play a map that contains caves against Japanese CPU w/ FOW, and if I select a hex that contains a cave that I haven't spotted yet, the game locks up. This also happens when I fire artillery into the hex, or if an enemy unit walks in there. Any ideas what's causing this?

I don't have any mods for RS btw, and this also happened on another computer, which also has no mods or custom scenarios.

Which scenario or scenarios are doing this? I will try it and see if it happens to me.

Basically any scenario/campaign where I play against Japanese computer with Fog-of-War on. One scenario with caves is The Main Event. It is the very last scenario if you order them chronologically.

I tried Checkmate on Kakazu Ridge and had no problems with the caves. I have Windows XP and I have set the compatability of each of the RS games exe files for Windows 98. Have you looked to see if your game exe files are set up for that compatability?
You high light the files in explorer, click on properties and then on compatabilty.

Other than that I cant figure out what your problem might be.
