I am toying with the idea of running a standard elimination style SPMBT Tournament. How much interest is there in having one set up here?

I figure we'll need at least 16 players (4 rounds) or 8 at minimum (3 rounds).

I removed the India vs Pakistan reference to allow for votes on the actual theater we will use.

Just a friendly advice... wait for WinSPMBT ! :halo:Most likely I will, I just wanted to put this out there to gauge the interest level. I also plan to use WinSPMBT for the next Combat Campaign as well.

Is it the end of Spring yet? :D

OK everyone. I have modified the Poll to allow for Theater of Operation voting. If you have a specific area in mind please post your thoughts.

NOTE: This Tournament will use the new WinSPMBT once it is released.

I think that a major conflict in the Balkan region will be interesting. :smoke:

You will have Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Skopja, (expansion to Kurds, Syria , Israel, Iran)

I hope it wont spill over to Hungary! :)

Is Skopje a country? :) I think it is FYROM - or for non-Greeks, Macedonia. :hush:

I went for taiwan/china.

Would like to play a few games, and its a bit of a hot topic at the moment. I could be wrong, but the forces may be fairly evenly matched.

Either way, count me in! :)

Other - Vietnam, of course, but I'm biased :cheeky:

May be good for an infantry heavy mini-tournament. :whist:

I`m having a blast with skirmisher at the moment playing a vietnam battle. I must admit, I didn`t realise so much fun could be had with all this infantry

Maybe we need to seriously consider a Vietnam Tourney but something small, maybe 8 players (3 rounds)?

Once WinSPMBT comes out I'll check into the OOB's and see how they look. Might also look hard at the OOB's for the Korean conflict as well. :whist:

Besides, Vietnam has some potential for MBTs, and for some "exotic" scenarios too, like South Vietnamese Marines reinforced with some M41s and M48s vs NVA infantry backed by a handfull of T-54s and T34/85s somewhere near the DMZ during the Easter offensive of 1972.

But then again, I have nothing against a good old M1 vs T-80 Fulda Gap rumble either

Yes, the battle we`ve currently got going is not very historical I`m sure, but we`ve both got a great mix of forces. great fun. And yes, I`ve managed to find a clearing in all that jungle to use my T54s

Guess its time to review the OOB's a little.

I must admit,those T-54VN's are being quite a pain :)

I would be up for it but I have to wait for WINSPMBT as I can not get the other one to work on w2000.

Hello.
I'll vote for and accept any of the Tournament options.
Dita & Double Deuce: a heavy infantry battle would test everyone for certain.
It would also appeal to most since learning about all the various vehicles is quite demanding..particularly the lack of balance in quality that can only be overcome by large amounts of infantry and other less effective vehicles.

Any AFV tournament would put you on my Christmas card list.
