I've been trying to play through Blitzkrieg and am getting very very frustrated. I'm into my third mission and so far I haven't made a move that the program hasn't told me to make. A typical game session with this dog goes like:

Blitzkrieg: "Click on your spotter plane and send it to recon the indicated area"

[click]

Blitzkrieg: "Oh oh looks like German fighters just shot down your spotter plane. Click on to your air support and send your fighters to shoot down his fighters."

Blitzkrieg: "Whoa great shooting there Hoss, but, unfortunately it looks like he anti-aircraft guns. You can't send in you heavy bombers. Click on to your transport to have your sniper parachute in to kill the anti-aircraft gun crews.....

:argh:

I've embellished this a little and have forgotten some of the script used by the game, but, you get the picture. Am I actually going to get to make any decisions on my own or is the game going to tell me every button to push and every action to take, cause I tell ya I am about to:

I liked Blitzkrieg when it was first out.

After a while though you get to know exactly where everything is - even on the "random" maps.

I suggest you just ignore the advice and do your own thing. Ignore what I'm saying too. Stop reading now!

Send in Paratroopers to scout around, keep air support restricted to either ground attack planes or fighters if things get hot and make lots of use of your artillery. You can win the whole game just by pounding everything with your artillery and sitting back with your armour to watch the fireworks. Give it ten minutes and then mop up.

You keep buying these shitty excuse for wargame titles, and the desigers think "hey I know how to make wargames" and then they go and make another stupid piece of garbage.

And it's all your fault !!

And company B sees the company A just made that dumb game, and so they figure, "hey I can do that too".

And you go an encourage that wretched company by purchasing their crap too.

I have had the ability to get Blitzkrieg and all the add ons for free since it was released (yes you people know what I am meaning by that).
I don't have any of them, and do you know why?

Because they suck so bad, even free is not a good enough deal.

Do your part for the hobby, and let people that make endless clones all frigging die off. Let their dumb companies go broke. The sooner the better.

Then maybe our wargames will go back to looking like wargames.
