Hello. I used to play with the weather always set to 1 and with good to great visibility: 48 to 60 hexes long; even while crossing open ground. Now I have played several opponents who have introduced me to bad weather and muddy conditions.
To this end I have even started a couple of games with poor weather and muddy conditions myself [AEF027; Airborne; Sentry; Freejack; Overseer ... I must say infantry makes quite a splash in these all weather encounters and many types of tanks just can't meet the requirements no matter how good they may be simply because they sink into the stuff nearly permanently. Some motorized units do not flail about in the mud.
Hats off to Willy who first started this new trend in my play by regularly responding with such game specifics at each new game op.
