View Full Version : Slowing game speed?

Hello guys, another question again :cheeky:

Is there any way to slow down the speed of the game when you click on the "Resolve all attacks" button? It is going so incredibly fast, I see enemy units flashing and running all over the map in a split second and that's it. I can't follow what's happening at all. Yes, I get a battle report between each attack, but this battle report is superimposed over the map and often it masks the hexes where the action happened and so I am left trying to figure out where exactly I was attacked, and where were the enemy units were coming from.

Is it just me who feels this way? I guess that maybe you get used to it after a while but if there is a way to slow down the pace of action so that I could at least follow what's happening and where it is happening, I would appreciate.:)

oh man, I felt they were too slow... wanted to speed them up.

The unit/hex being attacked is highlighted ---- with that metal-like frame. It is true sometimes you cannot find it easily if you have no clue which attack will happen first. But once you get used to it, you will see it.

You cannot tell from the map which units joined the attack toward your units --- but by examine the battle report carefully, you can figure out exactly what happened. You surely should know which of your own units were assigned to attack the enemy, right? :)

Have you started you game with the flag nodelay ? With this flag set the CPU controlled units will move with no delay. Great for playtesting but a little confusing for normal play. Maybe you've set it for testing purposes and forget about it ?

Oh Oh...I did not know about that option? How do you set off that option?

If you dont know how to set that option you probaby haven't :)
The nodelay option is a command line option, you can start opart from command line as follows: 'OPART 300 CW.EXE nodelay' or you create a link to the exe (the entry in you start menue is already a .lnk), right click - preferences and add a nodelay behind the target path.

OK... Indeed I never added that command in the target path so I guess I am not using it. Thanks!
