Hello.
Dan and I [danstudentvcc] are engaged in a USA [Dan] vs W GE/ Canada [Danstudentvcc] MBTv301 AAR threaded battle. The forces are nearly 140,000 points big .. that's 500 units per player. There is also a force presence of nearly 60 choppers apiece. 51 each acutally going by the 1st edits only [the 2nds are not for each others eyes .. there may be a 3rd editing pass as reinforcement hexes and the rules are not complete as yet!]...

I placed each one of my current pbem SP WHQ alias's as Leopard 2 company sized tank commanders. That's nearly one - 100 - tanks in total!
Actually they are more like Kampfgruppe commanders then tank company commanders. Since each alias has a force that includes tanks/paras/pioneers/SPSAM etc ..
I wonder which WHQ alias Dan will finish off first. He will know since I renamed the tanks involved by their commanders WHQ alias including the tank commander.
I am the overall Brigade commander so the games HQ unit has my alias and Dan would know right away that the DVCC infantry unit would be the overall HQ command.

Assets include for each alias:
Leopard 2A6-EX's Recon type for the commanders
regulars for the rest of the formation.
L-1A5's and Canadian Leopard 1's --> L-C2's..
as well there are Elite paratroopers for each alias commander w/ Milan's and vision 40 ..
Some Pz2000's for arty to keep up with them as we maraude thru Dan's position onto greater victory .. :surprise:
And as well other assorted items such as the German IFV which is TOW capable and vision 40 but only accessible thru the scenario editor.

It may be tough since my opp likes to use his choppers aggresively. However the Canadian ADATs should keep the skies clear most of the time. SO I should be able to protect most of my company commanders!
It is nice to see a counter to the Apache that can generate 99% to hit and nearly 100% kill values. On the ambush or defense no aircraft in the SPMBT game can survive against even a very small number of ADATs. It is like a modern day 88mm gun straight out of Steel Panthers 1. Smoke em!:smoke:

Since these units carry 8 SAMs and have an incredibly fast rate of fire. How fast are they you ask. Well normally attack Helos of the Apache or Future type [meaning the best] can respond to the sam launch or target acquisition of their choppers and inundate the original firing unit. However once an ADAT fires the roles are reversed. It is now the Attack Helos of any make that are inundated with SAMs all running at 99% to hit. Most of the time the choppers are smoked where they stand and do not cause the wild melee of return fire from their brethren which normally occurs in SPMBT.

This makes Canada a top notch defensive nation. Of course much like the MLRS and other deadly systems they do not have hard armour protection. But if you buy more of them as Gary Grigsby suggests in the SP3 manual then you can use them on the offense and simply eliminate your opposing forces air support swiftly!

In closing there are a limited number of defensive measures that work against ADATs but :cry: I cannot give them away since they involve suicidal attack methods.
