A hodgepodge of questions

Hello everyone. I have a few questions that have been bouncing around in my head, so I thought I'd ask away before I forget;

Is there going to be a newbie tournament/ladder game? I seem to recall it was briefly discussed a few weeks ago, but nothing ever came of it. I also wasn't sure who would organize it, or how.

Is there any way to design a linked campaign? Or are we limited to designing scenarios only? A player-made campaign would be terrific fun.

In the mod DG Vietnam, I noticed a number (but certainly not all) units have no information listed (when you press the F2 key, all that is listed is movement and fire stats). There is a way to add text (and it's easy to do), but I'm worried this will make my game incompatible with other DG-Vietnam players. Will it?

No idea. I would imagine something will come up in the future, just a matter of being patient.

Yes, there is. Here's a link to the documentation that you'll need to go through it. It's not complicated, merely time consuming.

Scroll through the DG folder and find "Unittext.txt" You can edit the text to your hearts content and it will not affect any of your game play - it merely provides the text information found in the F2 screen.

This is the plan...but I have to work out the kinks, and find the time. But it is on the queue.
