What is the story with recovering losses between the battles in campaign mode?

Unit that was eliminated will appear in next battle with 20% of its original strenght (so I think).

But how many men will return to the ranks of regiment which suffered some casualties but wasn't destroyed?
Any rule here?
5, 10 or 20 % of suffered losses or maybe none? :whlchr:

I'm not sure of the exact number. What you can basically count on is that your losses are "made good" in the second battle after you lose them

Alex,
yes, "destroyed" units reappear at 20% strength. I should know this stuff better but alot of the numbers tend to get muddled together over time...I believe 10% of losses are recovered between each battle in a campaign. What Gary says shouldn't be true unless there is an error somewhere. He might be facetiously referring to the loss carryover problem with Gettysburg, which Doug is fixing for a future update.

I don't know the exact nature of it. Posts on a gaming club board (Mason Dixon) reported IIRC that some units were recovering all of their previous losses in later battles during a campaign. That's what I thought Gary was referring to here in this thread, maybe not I don't know. Doug (the designer) is fixing it so it's not a big deal.

It's a .org file mapping problem, and Doug should have it resolved in the first patch...

Yes, it is correct.
I noted losses suffered by 11 regiments in first battle of Franklin campaign and in 10 cases exactly 10% of lost men returned to the ranks for next battle.
Thanks :)
