Unit Database and Peer Review.

With the coming unit editor it would be nice to have a database for created units. Somwhere you could go and download units and be sure the stats are correct and available for peer review.

is the format such that this could be done? ie on a webpage or something?

It is not ideal, but the Shrapnel Games Intel Forum has a thread on their scenario archives dedicated to Armored Task Force. This would be a place where you could upload resources for others to take a look at.

I would host something like that at the ProSIM Company home page, but we are already at capacity with support material for BCT and ATF. And my bandwith makes downloading large resources painful.

Not wanting to pledge time I do not have BUT, I do own www.firebase.org that is basically empty. It USED to be an Americas Army Strategy page but I have not updated it in over a year. Most Americas Army players it seems could have given squat about real life tactics. The forum went dead quite quickly. Pity.

Anyways, all the information there was ported to militarysim.com with my permission and seems to be getting some good reading there.

If I could figure out a way to automate uploading of unit information and then cataloging I would be happy to donate the space there.

Not sure what my bandwidth quota is or disk space.. (I think 5G plus.

I just keep the domain because it sounds good :) and ya never know when you want to host somethign related to the military.

I would happily support any effort you want to make at a resource site. I must confess that the only thing that is less conducive than my bandwidth is my time in man-hours, but I will provide whatever help I can.

There are tons of sites on the net that have free scripts which allow you to upload files. But be very careful about what you allow people to upload. It is very easy for someone to ruin your server by uploading malicious files.
