I Hate MMORPG's But...

I just can't get into them, unless they are associated with a film franchise, most of the time at least. The WoW MMORPG game, well, it doesn't appeal to me. I hate those D&D type of games, I can't stand that fantasy aspect because for me, it has to be set in a semi-realistic environment.

Now for my question. Has anyone played The Matrix Online, and if so, what are your impressions of it?

CoH is a very cool game! i don't know about Auto Assault though, it looks pretty lame. PC Gamer came down on it harshly, too.
i'm a huge Matrix fan, so i'm hoping Matrix Online will get great scores...does anyone know if you have to pay a monthly fee for MO?

Auto Assualt was hottly anticipated by PCG. It was in their "Best to come in '05" issue.

I don't think we're reading the same PCGamer. They have a preview of it in the Scoops section of the May '05 issue that seems pretty positive.
