View Full Version : Letting out a little frustration

All right, I am frustrated. Just as I was thinking I was getting my hands around this thing, I find I just don't understand what the heck is going on.

I have spent all night working on my sighting tests and I am finding that nothing makes sense. Sometimes I get one shot one kill from 1000m with a DU round and then 10 turns later I have an M1 pumping 10 to 15 rounds into the REAR of a T72A and nothing. I just can't seem to get any consistenet results out of this thing. The sighting tools don't match what you see on the map. It just seemd like some basic things are still broken.

I don't understand how much smoke effects thermal imaging. The documentation is lousy in explaining what settings you should use for different environments.

I feel I am only scratching the surface on what issues lie beneath. Each time I think I am getting somewhere, I run up against another issue.

Someone reassure me this thing is going to wotk. Thanks for the rant!

Hang in there! I have been here many times as Mike can probably attest to.

Scott has another build up and it looks like he found a problem wit hthe kill probabilities. Update your build and try again.

Also what FOW setting are you using?

I always use 3 in hotseat. Don't worry, I'm not bailing. Just venting. I did notice that I was getting a lot of misses with the M1 at 200m. It was the least of my problems.

Everyone--

Keep up the good work. I am at my sister in laws house in North Dakota so I have been able to post some things, but I can't wait till Monday and help pull some of my wieght.

The postings on here have been some of the best for a great long while. I really think this structured testing is going to help. We are finding some things and even if it is not a hard bug but gameplay issues they will go a long to improving the game.

So keep going and keep posting! I am learning a lot about the game just reading everyones posts. And because of your efforts from what I could tell Build 222 was one of the better builds and Scott found a mistake in it. Things can only get better.

I believe that as long as you, Herc, Wnourse and others remain passionate over seeing this game work as we expect and Scott continues to provide patches, then this game will have a future!

It is easy to become frustrated at timess simply due to the potential that all of us see in this game. Each patch brings it closer to achieving that potential in many ways, but then completely misses the mark in other areas :(

I felt the same frustration yesterday while testing ATGMs. I became so flustered over the issue, that I simply had to walk away find something else to do for while. In the end, I finished my testing and sent my results to Scott simply because I want to see this game reach it potential.

Thanks,
Mike

There was a problem in build 222 with tanks hitting their targets. It looks as if Scott corrected (better to say "tried to correct it) in the new build. I have not checked it out under the new build just released, but I had sent him an e-mail regrding that a few days ago.
