Can V1.02 & 1.03 play pbem against eachother?

I assume not but thought I would ask since I have 1.03 (gold edition).

The whole version thing is the ONE thing I hate about this series. Everything else I enjoy.

from my little experience with this, I would say yes. If there is a compatability problem, which does arise some times. The 1.03 player can take the map to the desired scenario to play, from version 1.02, and open it in the 1.03 game editor. Then save it again, and that should make the scenario playable between the two versions. I did it recently in the International EF tournament for round one, and it worked perfectly for all the players that needed it.

Great. That is good to know! I always just assumed you couldn't and never got the chance to try it out.

Keep in mind a couple of things.

1. Scenarios created in 1.03 cannot be played in 1.02. There's no way to convert the 1.03 maps back to 1.02.

2. There might be a conflict if the scenario played is one of the rare 1.03 night scenarios that utilitize the 1.03 Night Rules and Starshells. I haven't tested to see what happens to the 1.02 player if the 1.03 player uses the starshells.
