Most of the Panzer Campaigns/Modern Campaigsn titles alternate between playing "background sounds" and music. If the music gets repetitive or you just don't like it, there is an option to turn it off. One things I have noticied is that Gettysburg does not have this, but I wish it did. Another thing that annoys me just a little is that they changed the way the .wav files are set up. In the other titles, each mucic file is a separate .wav, and the game will randomly select which one is to be played at the start of a new turn. For Gettysburg, all the music has been compiled into a single file so that the same exact music starts all over at the beginning of every turn.
This is a huge step backward in the sound department and one has to wonder why in the world this was done. I am in the habit of replacing selected .wav files with wargame music or background sounds of my own creation. You can do this in the other games, but not here...
