Hello.
Are you a SP player who also plays ASL?

Weeeeeeeeeell.
Some dumb company actually thinks they are going to make a computer ASL :)
But in truth, Steel Panthers is basically ASL.
So if you like one, you probably would like the other. Although Steel Panthers being free, and ASL looking for a pint of blood your left nut and your right arm, choosing to be an ASLer requires a lot more interest of the person hehe.
I am pleased to say though, that anyone calling themselves an ASLer or champion of the Steel Panthers cause, that has NOT played a Squad Battles game, has to amend that over sight.
No self respecting sqad level wargamer wants to have missed out on Squad Battles.
And the perk, they got WW2 post war and modern offerings.
Gotta like that eh :)
Squad Battles Modern? What are the modern offerings? I thought it only went to Vietnam. Also, are there any new modules coming out? Its been quiet there for a long time.

Well, it is Paradox, the makers of "Europa Universalis II" and "Hearts of Iron II", so maybe "dumb" is not the best word. But I'm curious about their announcment: up to now, every declaration to do "Squad Leader for PC" led to anything but SL/ASL.
I purposely left the identity of the company vague, because anyone that actually cares already knows :)
I would be hard pressed to get excited by anything from them though, regardless of what they were attempting.

Well, maybe it is a matter of taste, but EUII is one of my preferred games ever (a game which, singlehandedly, made me open an history book which I should have read at the high school in the '80s, still packed in plastic :) )
Anyway, ASL is a little out of Paradox's boundaries, even if the conversion for PC of the original EU was a good attempt at porting a boardgame on the computer. I'm just curious about this one, with no bias.
