What are your initial impressions of the demo?

I think the terrain and vehicles look a bit better than CMBO. Too bad we can't see more of them. I really don't like the look of the buildings though. They look pretty medicore IMHO.

There are quite a few more options available as far as commands. It seems to be a smoother overall presentation. I think it's going to be a good game.

Yeah, I agree about the buildings. Seems we need another Maddog building mod

The vehicles look like some of the better (but probably not as good as the best) high res mods for CMBO. The troops look better. The terrain seems to be an improvement, as well as an addition in types, over the mods that I have seen for CMBO. Haven't played in any buildings, so I have no opinion on those.

The new commands are interesting and welcome. It will probably take me some time to understand how they really work and how to use to them effectively.

If what we have are cheap knock-offs of the game sounds, they should be great. Can't comment on the Soviet voices, as I don't even understand what they're saying (although I can guess). I liked the German voices in CMBO better, mostly because they were miked up and more easily heard. Can't say much about how "German (as in acccurate/ high and low)" the Axis soldiers voices are in either CMBO or the current demo are. My German is limited to Milwaukee and Texas Hill County Deutsch.

as far as looks and sounds go, i think they are quite good, but there is always room for improvement, but that is not too important as they designed it too be easily changed to keep everybody happy (I'm sure the modders out there are rubbing their hands together at all the possibilities). I think the most important changes are in the user interface, which now has many more options......I need the game,,,,i need it NOW lol.

I have experienced lock-up problems while playing agianst the AI in Citadel. They started when I quit for the night and saved the game. Continuing with the saved game, the lock-up occurs (sometimes) when I select a certain tank and (always) when I try to select the crew of a dead tank. As a result, I am now saving after every move. I am running the demo on a Dell 8200 that I got at the beginning of this year.

Has anyone else had any similar or other problems?

Yes, I have the same problem with German crews sometimes, and what I have seen on the Battlefront forum, many other, too. But it was stated from BTS this happens only in the Demo, the problem shouldn't occur in the full version.
