Does anyone know where to find maps that indicate forests as well? I'm having a hell of a time finding some. Specifically, I'm creating a map of Italy. Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure where this type of data can be found. Some things to research would be the population density and geography of Italy. By looking at these types of maps a guess can be made about which areas would be forested or not.

there are some Atlas you can find at the library. That show the plant life in a country, but it is on a small scale. That is what I used.

you could try satellite photos, maybe at nasa.gov ??

Thanks to all for your replies. So far, I've been using a mix of atlases and satellite photos. Atlases are usually very vague, but they do indicate the large concentrations. Forests are a bit difficult to distinguish on satellite photos, but with a bit of understanding of the general terrain/geography and some edumacated guestimations, I think I'll do all right :nervous:
