I'm sure all these scenario designers out there will have an answer. I just shut it off. maybe if I knew how to install some decent tunes I might have it on. This may be a cool idea.

Cheers,
Ray

I think it has to be a .wav format, all you need to do is change the name of the music you wanna use to one corresponding in your EF2 folder and replace it.

Correct - you just have to replace the .wav files with ones of your own. There is a site out there with alternate music files, I don't have the URL to hand, but will post it when I find it.

there are 4 types of background music files in WF (and EF2 too, might be more in RS, don't have it installed atm)

-abackg0.wav (or abackg1,2,3, etc...). = music played during the allied turn

-nback0.wav = "neutral" music played randomly in both player's turn

-xbackg0.wav = german or axis player turn music

-backg0.wav = battle sounds

Now, what would be interesting is to know if you can add more music, for instance, there are 5 axis music files in WF (xbackg0,1,2,3,4.wav, what happened if you add more (like xbackg5.wav)? will the progam recognize them?

I've copied/burned the music files and sound effects from the battle sounds .wav files onto a CD. They can then be plaid in any other game like Grand Theft Auto Vice City. (Its kind of strange driving through the Vice City streets listening to background battle sounds and songs from the Campaign Series from the radio :) ).

OK so what does that experiment prove...? If the music files can be moved from the Campaign Series files, others should be able to be copied into it. The next part is where it gets stranger, as you can have your MP3 music files playing while watching your panzers rolling across the hills....But a word of warning....

Watching your panzers rolling across the hills towards enemy bunkers, does not go well with Kylie Minogue songs !!

Yeah I couldnt find the music files to replace in either WF or EFII so I just turn the music of in the game and then turn in iTunes for some music... I never thought butchering German soliders could be so fun listening to Hardcore :devious:

Open your EF2 folder, then chose display -> list, all the .wav file will be located at the end.

Anyone know if it's possible to convert a .wav file to an mp3 or vice-versa?

I'm also curious about the effectiveness of using .wav files from other games copied/pasted into the CS folders. :cheeky:

It is, you only need a converter, think you can find some free ones on the web.

It is possible, as long as you rename them and overwrite the existing music files.

An excellent choice would be the title tune from the movie 'Kull The Conqueror'.
Savage barbarism is what we're aiming for here.

I had always suspected wav files were interchangable between games. I just let my winamp player go while playing.

Good fighting music; (for a demented soul like me)

Let the Bodies Hit the Floor - ?

Disposable Teens - Marilyn Manson

Again - Alice in Chains

Man in the Box - Alice in Chains

Hells Bells - AC/DC

Hey man, nice shot - Filter

War Pigs - Ozzy Osbourne

Sober - Tool

Boom - POD

Flies in the Vaseline - Stone Temple Pilots

Come out and Play - The Offspring

Mob Rules - (Ronnie James) Dio

Matrix Reload - Rob Zombie

No Shelter - Rage Against the Machine

You get the idea. I've got about 1500 mp3's, but I don't even want to think about how much work it would mean to convert them to wav files. Besides, my player can be set to 'random play" anyway, accomplishing basically the same thing as loading them into the game.

Interestingly, with my older player, "Realplayer' or 'Real,' the playlist would sometimes would become corrupted if I started a CS game while a song was playing - this would force me to recreate the entire playlist...which sucks. I just started using winamp, so far no probs.

Keep on rockin! :coolban: :whist: :smoke:

There are TONS of music format converter utilities. Try http://www.download.com and just do a search for .wav or .mp3. Most are free to try, but charge after a certain amount of conversions or after a time period.

Full versions of most CD burning software will do it too (usually) like Roxio or Nero.
