View Full Version : Game in progress...
I've only got one PZC game underway right now, and it's a big one. We're on turn 34 of 140 in a "2nd battle of Kharkov". I'm the Germans:

He's putting some serious pressure on me in places, but I've punched a huge hole in his Southern line, and I'm racing to catch him from behind...

One day we'll get it reported! :cheeky:
You're playing havoc with his tanks!! 562 destroyed vehicles... what is his main battle tank, the T-34/41?
Yes, the T-34 is the main battle tank, but there's quite a few T-60's running around (or there used to be :dead: ) and KV-1's as well as armored cars and some 37 mm AA vehicles. So a combination of stuff. Still, my Panzers are making a good showing...and the 1st Panzer Army just rleased so the real show is about to begin... :smoke:
What is the German MBT in Kharkov? This is the only PzC game I don't have.
It's a mix of Pz III & Pz IV's. There's a single unit representing both, so I'm assuming the battalions were made up with a healthy mix of both at this point in the war. Not well read enough on it to comment for sure though.

I am pretty sure even at that part of 1942 -that the MBT was a form of the Pz III with the 50mm gun - I have no idea of the mixture of short barrels to long barreled IIIs - the IVs - iirc did not start getting the long 75... gun until later on in the Fall of 1942. IVG I think --- as well as the IVF -so the MBTs would be fairly similar to S 41.... will have to go dig it out some time and check. as well as some of the other books I got on the subject.

OK punting this up top to remind myself to answer this -- you'd think a guy with Jentz's Panzer books as well as some of the others I have -could be ought to have answered this properly by now. (Meaning me... that is...)
Still plugging along...but my push from the South is making good progress. He's wearing my lines thin in a couple of places to the north, but I'm able to shore the seams up and keep him at bay...
