View Full Version : Command Radius?

In the Talonsoft series, I remember leaders having a command radius. Normally (always!?), the Rebs had a slightly higher radius, ie a Reb brigade commander would have a 4 hex radius versus a 3 hex radius for a Yank. The radius was a good incentive to keep your organizations together. If a unit was within the radius of its leader, it would get a benefit for morale checks.

I don't see that for the HPS games. Seems that you only benefit from a leader if the leader is in the same hex. Am I missing something?

That still apllies. Check out the PDT data...that can be accessed from the Help menu or by pressing F2. All sorts of goodies in there...

You can also click on a leader and then go to View -> Command Range and it will highlight the command range of that leader.

Ah ... thanks guys. I forgot all the great information contained by doing F2. Odd that the users manual doesn't even mention command range.

One more question - the radius of the Union cav leaders seems triple the stated command range. Is that an undocumented feature of cav leaders in general?

That's correct, do to the high mobility nature of the units.
