Has anyone else experienced a problem with Artillery delivered smoke rounds? I have repeatedly tried to create a smoke screen with both 120mm and 155mm delivered smoke rounds. In each case, no smoke is ever generated. I sent the email below to Scott the other day...

Scott,
I have been experimenting with IF this weekend and
think I have encountered a problem with Artillery
delivered WP/Smoke rounds. I have repeated fired 30+
smoke rounds into 1 - 2 hexes without generating any
smoke. In fact, the "Current Location" window shows
absolutely no smoke value in either hex.

The attached zip file contains two saved game files
that demonstrate this issue. The first file,
"Artillery_Smoke_Test_T1" shows the assigned IF orders
for a 155mm Battery and a 120mm mortar unit. All have
orders to fire 10 smoke rounds each into two hexes.

The second file, "Artillery_Smoke_Test_T2", shows the
what the next turn looks like. As you can see, no
smoke was generated.

For reference, I am running beta build 201.

Thanks,
Mike

According to this reply from Scott, it looks like he fixed the IF smoke problem as well as a few others...

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your report and files. I found a couple of problems in the
IF fire routines, both having to do with the rate of fire the mission was
using. Once I got those squared away, your smoke missions came in as
intended; afterwards the smoke rounds burned for a couple of minutes,
and produced a thick smoke screen.

I also found a problem in the reporting stuff, which, while it didn't
affect the simulation at all, provided confusing information to the player.

Finally, I rewrote the "Location Information" form code to compile all
of the smoke values together into one value (it was showing each round
separately), and to tell the player how many rounds were still
burning/producing smoke.

I hope to have a new build out soon, probably either today or tomorrow.

Thanks again!!!
