View Full Version : Italy / boarding ships + Somalia problem
I play ver.1.5 and encountered two problems on the turn after Italy declared war on the Allies:
- impossible to board ships, even small inf.btl
- impossible to move troops in Somalia, even 2 turns after decl.of war
bug or other explanation?
thanks,

:(
I've had a look through the old posts, and I can't see this one being mentioned before.
All I can think of - and it's not much help - is are you sure that you're not trying to load too heavy units onto ships? If not, has Italy really mobilised? Because its units are yellow anyway, you can't see the yellow band that normally shows that units are stuck in Garrison mode. Another possibility is that the whole formation has too low supply to move, but you'd see the orange band if this was the case.
If it's any consolation, and I'm sure it isn't, the Italians in the Horn are crap anyway: sticking them all on Ignore Losses and Fortified will probably lead to the Allied Player taking as long to defeat them as he would if they could move.
I know there was a bug about the Colonial troops not surrendering if Addis Ababa falls, but I don't recall them being unable to embark on ships. (Or do you mean all the Italians, not just the Colonial units, in which case it does sound like the whole Italian OOB hasn't mobilised?) Can you move the mainland Italians by normal land movement, in which case you'll know that the OOB has mobilised?
You haven't got a German unit embarked sitting in or outside a port taking up the shipping points?
Sorry, this isn't much help.
Are you in the Sitzkrieg phase of the game?
Dan and I are currently on a 1.5 version of the game, and it all worked fine. (I am the Axis). I was able to move them all, no naval tpt problems, etc.
Due to a bug the Italians in the Horn are unable to move in 1.5 (should be correct in later versions). Axis supply point is in Mogadishu in 1.5, so I don't think you could have held the area long anyway.
thanks for your help, but as it were light units, mobilized (as they could move by land without a problem) and no other troops anywhere onboard ships it must be a bug of some kind.
...I'll have to do with it as is, and as some of you stated it doesn't really matter...except that it is annoying to see the allied player invade the shorelines of Lybia while I can't even move my own troops in my own land.
