Briefing: Satellite images show that the Rebels are digging in and have been for some time, obviously preparing for an eventual attack. It appears there is at least 1 - 2 companies of infantry there. It is unknown if there are any vehicles or heavy weapons supporting them.
Mission: Assault and seize the zone, in particular the town and small port facilities.

Fine, but I would have preferred more plain infantry in the first wave of Marines. :( They have to attack, and infantry would have been the best for that. Anyway, I think we can manage... :p

The deploy file has gone out to the Rebel Commander.I have it now and will be creating and sending out the battle file shortly. Previous communications indicate that Pergite will be leading this battle. Is that still correct?

Pergite,
good plan. Did you receive my mail I send you a week ago?
Yes, and it was very helpfull. I will do my best to get the most out of your tips.
Can´t wait to get on with the battle.

The oppostion is confirmed hostile. They are fireing blindley with small arms in our general direction, probably at the sounds of my armour. No hits reported... not even close.
One rebel squad observed in an entrenchment on a hill overlocking the bridge. The UN M60 mine clearing tanks engaged after being fired upon. Eight 105mm HE rounds where expended but the squad is still holding firm.
The southern UKR platton are doing a recce of possible crossing points of the river, as well as keeping out of sight.
Air strikes are en route as well as arty strikes on suspected rebel positions.
Marine QRF are inbound ETA 20 minutes, then its really time to drop the hammer.

How is this battle progressing?
Got my turn back yesterday...

My airstrikes hade the effect I wished for. The ordnance landed hard on suspected enemy positions. The rebels tried to leave their foxholes and trenches in fear of new airstrikes.
On the move they soon became easy prey for my AFV and Tank gunners that until now just hade been waiting for targets. Fire at will was issued and I wont withdraw that order until a white flag comes up over MANKARA. I have tons of 12.7mm and 30mm to spare, and a rebel only has one life. It is an easy equation.
The MAYORS HOUSE is on fire and I can in my binoculars see alot of decimated rebel squads running (routed) away from it (and me), due west and directly out to the sea.
I almost feel sorry for them :p
SITREP OP URGENT FLURRY

I have crossed the bridge into the village itself. It was mined, and I therefore spearheaded with my M60 Mineclearer tanks.
The opposition is light, descimated sections are running around screaming or cowering helplessly in their trenches and foxholes. I keep pounding their positions with everything I have got and try to punch some reason into them, and it might be working. Some sections have just thrown down their weapons and fled.
--------------
A small boy apporached my TACP carrying a white flag just minutes ago. He asked on behalf of the Rebel CO if I was interested in a negotiation.
I want you to send SOP on this kind of situation.
Acknowledge over...

The rebel defenses have totally broken down. The previously dug in rebel forces to the east and around the bridge are completely routed and I am now conducting a force advance into the village. The UKR-coy have formed up and are ready to mop up the scattered remaining opposition in the eastern part of the village. They have all the support they could ever ask for, M60 tanks, British engineers, arty and air strikes.
The marines have now arrived, and in style as well. They swooped in from the sea in their helos towards their designated LZ´s. On the way in the pilot of the first HIP spotted what looked like a Command Post in a hut along the villages main W-E street. The door-gunner opened up and completely tore the hut apart. The second chopper followed behind doing the same, routing the Rebel HQ inside and forcing the survivors out in the open.
The helo landed and the marines disembarked. Two sections and a sniper team where immediately tasked to take out the Rebel HQ, and they soon opened up with everything they got, eager to get stuck in.
To sum things up:
The rebels are totally surrounded. They have taken heavy losses and are routed. If god don’t grant them a miracle they will never get the initiative (that they really never had) back.
I request more medical resources because my TF can’t handle the large number of wounded rebels in the area. I also need transports to transfer rebel POW´s back to the central holding area.
The MAYORS HOUSE is on in ruins other than that collateral damage has been limited.
I have no own casualties reported at this time.
SITREP OP URGENT FLURRY
DTG 030525 Z
The rebel forces previously occupying MANAKARA are now completly surrounded. Their Cmdr and his entire HQ was just gunned down by a squad of marines. One brave rebel unit is still holding its ground, severly pinned in a small copse in the center of the village. All other opposition is either routed or destroyed.
I let one MI-26 fly over and recce the MAYORS HOUSE but it took small arms fire from the copse mentined above. No reports of wounded, but the pilot has reported that has got a small fuel leak. I wont take any chanses and have orderd him back to base.
More mines and IED:s have been detected on the roads leading into the village so be aware that the terrain isnt secured yet.

Any news here? We may need to cut it short to get the game moving again!
I have been waiting for my turn to return from my opponent since I last posted the SITREP above. Its a decisive victory, so I dont see any reason for him to continue. His HQ is destroyed, and according to the rules that means that he Cmdr is lost as well.

He probably lost it. But the commander is not lost, the person can fight again. We decide so at the beginning of turns, as far as I remember. Otherwise there would be no rebel command left.

Under extremely heavy assault by UN forces backed up by heliborne US Marines and heavy armor, several Rebel squads were forced to lower the flag and surrender. After being taken into custody they have been transferred to UN flagged vessels offshore until hostilities have ceased and their safe return to the island can be negotiated.
There were no significant UN Force losses.
United Nations Forces now control the zone!
