Would you like it to have even steeper requirements than Doom 3?

I like the real-time lighting that it will have though, (like Doom 3).

Oh, and HL2 will be adding HDR lighting to a new coast like level....so then you can quit whining about its lighting :D.

And notice, it's only for people with higher end systems, so you can start complaining that no one can run it.

Its an EXTRA feature :D...I won't complain...I can run it ;).

It will be interesting to see exactly where they put the bar at...

It will be interesting to see exactly where they put the bar at... Just like I don't complain about Doom 3, I can run it, and thus I can see how much better it looks.

Okay, enough stealing BF2's thunder with the Doom 3 Engine's superiority over HL2. I deem such debate in this thread over. :p

I feel this debate kind of just dropped off a cliff...no conclusion.

So, in conclusion: It is obvious that HL2 really is the better game, just look at the polls (the sticky at the top of this forum). Along with superior graphics, physics, and immersion factor, the game has varied gameplay never before seen in Doom 1 or Doom 2... :D

In seriousness (and back to the thread topic, since the debate is CLOSED :p), I am really looking forward to BF2. I'm confident it will have the fun gameplay of other BF games, and now with it getting some of the graphical and physics aspects of other games it will make it that much better. I'm just sad they pushed the release date back...

I do like the inclusion of the commander's spot, however it'll be interesting to see how it comes off. The game Savage had a commander that could give directions to players on the team (and there were rewards for completing objectives given by the commander). However, the commander also was in charge of building a base RTS style, which gave the position a lot more to do. I'm worried that just giving directions won't really be enough to make the position exciting (especially if you have a team that isn't listening, which is likely on a Pub situation).

Yep, that must be really cool, now it's finally a place for good old strategy gaming on LANs ;)

BF2 is the reason I will be buying a new system or upgrading my old workhorse!
