View Full Version : Sorry, but where do I find..
online games for CS?? I've not done this since many years ago with my brother, and would like to try a multi-player game, running a battalion or so. I'm just not sure where to find opponents, I usually have quite a few free hours on Saturday/Sundays. I have EF II, WF, RS, and DG.
TIA

Shouldn't you be working on SPWAW in some capacity?
If you ever get into putting the design work into CS as you have SP, I may have to re-install my CS Series of games.
Heh, heh!! How've you been, DD?! Well, I was working on the Korean War project for WAW for some time, but the idiosyncrosies of the mech.exe are too hard to over-come as far as the names for the Philippines, etc., so work on that has all but halted!
As for the CS games, do you have the Allied Bulgaria mod for EF II that I released? It's in the Blitzkrieg game action/downloads area, I'm also working on the Axis Bulgarians for the same and for WF!! With the help of George Smithson, I've just imported the Yugoslavians into EF II also, he did all the work on that one, although I made a few icon refinements for my install. I like the CS games as they are so easy to edit the units and graphics. Thanks for the reply, and words of encouragement my friend!!

I've never played an online game of CS only by email. Are these games any fun? Cause I might be interested. But I dont have a clue how to do it.

Oh yeah, I remember having a real blast playing online with my brother!! I recently read up on how to do it in the Blitzkrieg site, here-http://www.theblitz.org/member_sites/online/, didn't seem too hard, and I have the manual also, which outlines it. I have the EF II standard version 1.02, I think, the World at War version is 1.03 , so they wouldn't be compatible I'm afraid, which version do you own?

I have the version that came with Europe in flames I think its 1.02 and it has the patch to make it work on XP. Would you like to try and play a game?

I guess I need to check into them again and get those downloads.
Online sounds fun, but I do see issues with the version number. I don't know why everyone can;t just put a patch for the latest version in, and fix the scenarios so they all work on the latest version, then everyone is on the same songsheet. I use W@W, so I'm out. But I would be interested to know how it went. That would be a neat idea for a tournament. It would go by alot faster, thats for sure.
Good luck.
Cheers,
Ray

Well it didnt go as we had hoped. We both kept getting error messages that the game couldn't be found or that I wasnt valid as a caller. I think this had to do with the firewall that the University I attened has on its internet. So I didnt get to play and I was all excited:cry:  But I have a feeling that Warhorse would probalby still like to play online with someone if they could get it to work. I just wish I could:hush: Anyways anyone else that trys let us know how it goes.

firewalls and routers are a no no. Must either shut the firewall or configure it for the connection, and you must disconnect from the router or configure it for the connection. That is the experience I have had setting my boy up to play civII with his freind.

My problem is that I have no clue as to how to even begin to going about that. And then if I did Im still not sure if I have accese to that it might be controlled just by the University.

If you really want to make an on-line play game fun, you need to play with a time limit set!
Try having maybe only 5 minutes to think and move all your units.
If you try to put something together, I'm interested. I've been itching for a multi-player game. I keep longing for the old days of Ping-Pong table sized Squad Leader with 4-5 people per side.
